Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review! Spoiler alert: I am amazed by how much I love this.

A month or so ago, I tried and wasn’t impressed with Pacifica’s Skin Revival Microdermabrasion Scrub – it just didn’t do anything at all for my skin the way other, better scrubs, like Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub with sea kelp, have. And, because I’m easily burned, I resolved to not spend more money on Pacifica products. However, when I spotted the Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste in the aisle at Ulta, the packaging was SO gorgeous, and the description so intriguing, I had to pick it up. It has two unusual ingredients – rice and lemongrass – the former of which I associate with Asian skincare, and the latter of which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen in a skincare product.

Description

“Pacifica’s innovative version of an ancient cleansing paste is a simple way to experience the gentle yet extraordinary benefits of rice, beloved for its brightening and cleansing properties. To intensify the benefits, we have added rice extract and natural lemongrass powder, known as an effective skin toner, that can help diminish the appearance of pores. Use and fall in love with the appearance of brighter, glowing skin.”

This contains rice extract which brightens and lemongrass powder which is a natural skin toner, and claims to brighten, stimulate, tone and gently cleanse.

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review

Rice has been historically loved by especially Asian cultures for its beauty properties, and is known to brighten. Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste is the second beauty item I’ve ever tried with it, the other being a a face powder, Palladio’s Rice Powder (which I really like). 🌾🌾 And…this is GORGEOUS. It’s a soft white cream with gentle exfoliating beads embedded, and smells like lemongrass. It’s lovely lovely to apply – so fresh and creamy and just thick enough. The beads are thick enough to be felt, but gentle enough that this would work for all skin types except perhaps extremely sensitive (I have dry, mildly sensitive skin). More importantly, it noticeably brightens and smooths my face.

This is definitely an exfoliating cleanser, not a first-step makeup remover, so you should use it as the second step of your routine. I remove makeup with a cleansing oil followed by a cream cleanser, then massage this all over my face, basking in the delicious scent that’s a blend of delicacy and crispness. To be honest, this has replaced the Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub in my routine, which I raved about just a month or so ago.  It’s hard to find gentle, effective exfoliators, and this is a great one.

Skin Type Recommendations:

This is PERFECT for dry skin and I would say amazing for normal and oily skin, because the exfoliation is enough to provide a great, thorough cleanse for oily skin, but because it’s also creamy, it’s gentle on normal and dry skin.

Run, don’t walk, and pick it up.  Buy: $14 at Ulta (not sponsored).

Note: Pacifica is an all-natural skincare range, so this is sulfate-free, 100% vegan, and cruelty-free.
