Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment Review

Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment Review

Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is one of the few beauty products out there that is absolutely worth the hype. Seemingly every Youtuber and beauty blogger out there has raved about this over the past couple of years, and after picking it up with skepticism and using it on and off for the past six months or so, I can tell you – it’s worth it.

Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment is formulated with avocado oil to nourish and hydrate the eye area. Kiehls says the cream is made with “highly effective natural ingredients”, which you should take with a grain of salt because Kiehls is not an all-natural or organic brand, so the cream certainly contains ingredients that are not all-natural. However, the cream itself is an incredibly rich and yes, creamy treatment – it’s a light green that’s quite close to the actual color of avocados, which you would think would be a turnoff, but when you apply it, and see how eagerly your skin gulps it up and how lightly the thick cream absorbs into your skin, you’ll cease to care at all about color.

Honestly, the texture of this is closest to butter, which I love – thick, but immensely soft, and melts (you can tell it has oil in it) into the skin as soon as you dab it on your eye area.

Baviphat Urban Dollkiss Mango Magic Brightening Mask Review

Baviphat Urban Dollkiss Mango Magic Brightening Mask Review

Baviphat Urban Dollkiss Mango Magic Brightening Mask Review! This has a ridiculously long name and a really unusual formula, and has been doing such wonders for my skin for the past two weeks that I’m going ahead and calling it a Holy Grail.

Baviphat is a Korean brand I’ve never heard of before, but this came in my monthly Beauteque beaut box, and I had a good feeling as son as I saw the cutesy packaging in my favorite color. Description: oxygenating bubbles offer a deep cleaning of skin while aloe vera extracts soothe and moisturize. Use: Apply to cleansed face and wait 2 minutes. Rinse.

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review

Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste Review! Spoiler alert: I am amazed by how much I love this.

A month or so ago, I tried and wasn’t impressed with Pacifica’s Skin Revival Microdermabrasion Scrub – it just didn’t do anything at all for my skin the way other, better scrubs, like Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub with sea kelp, have. And, because I’m easily burned, I resolved to not spend more money on Pacifica products. However, when I spotted the Pacifica Rice Bright Cleansing Paste in the aisle at Ulta, the packaging was SO gorgeous, and the description so intriguing, I had to pick it up. It has two unusual ingredients – rice and lemongrass – the former of which I associate with Asian skincare, and the latter of which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen in a skincare product.

Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask Review

Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask review

Paula’s Choice is a website founded by internationally-recognized skincare expert Paula Begoun, and has both an extensive encyclopedia of ratings of skincare products on the market today, as well as their own line of skincare. I find the website useful, and I often check it before buying something, but I don’t find it the end-all-be-all – while they have a general accuracy in that they highly rate some of the brands that consumers tend to find very high-quality and effective, and which I’ve found amazing, I’ve also tried highly-rated products on PC that did absolutely nothing for me (looking at you, Olay Regenerist Eye Serum). So that’s that. The Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask was the first of their products I’ve tried.

Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub Review – organic skincare with sea kelp, lemon peel, and French green clay

Look. Look at how pretty this is! Might as well sell my soul to all-natural, organic skincare brand Acure because their products speak to my deepest weakness – simple, bright packaging with clean lines. Swoon. I initially planned to review both the Cell Stimulating Facial Mask and the Brightening Facial Scrub in this post, but I got carried away and wrote a lot of words about just the scrub, so I’m going to talk just about that, and will review the Cell Stimulating Facial Mask soon.[/caption]

I’d been wanting the Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub for months after seeing it  featured in Allure’s Best of 2015 list as the best facial scrub and finally, after being unable to find it stocked at Target ever for love or money, ordered it on Amazon. I trust Allure recommendations more than any other source in the world, simply because I’ve found so many of them to be so effective, and there’s a great blend of science and skincare knowledge in their recommendations, without an obsessive commitment to any one brand of skincare thought.

Holy Grail Skincare: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream – Best Moisturizer for All Skin Types

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream

When someone, anywhere online, says “Holy Grail,” my mind immediately flits to the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Kiehl’s is a classic skincare brand, having been around since 1851, and the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream has been a staple of their line and a fan favorite since the 70s.  It’s rare for brands to stick with one product – typically, they’re constantly launching new ones or reworking their existing ones so as to bring in a new crop of buyers and keep the brand fresh – which should give you a hint of just how good this cream is. 50 years from now, people will probably still be buying, and loving, the Ultra Facial Cream.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask Review

Laneige is a branch of Amore Pacific, Korea’s largest cosmetics company, and was the first Korean brand picked up by Target. It’s quite popular in Asia and has stores in New Zealand and Canada as well as the U.S. I love Korean cleansers and was slightly familiar with the brand from having lived briefly in Korea, so I was very curious to try one of their most-recommended products, the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Their products are based on “research into the science of water” and most utilize some form of suspended water to deliver maximum hydration. I picked this up for $21 at Target.

Korres Wild Rose Brightening Sleeping Facial Review

korres-wild-rose-and-vitamin-c-sleeping-facial-d-2014111314242691~396259My skin is dry but also acne-prone, and I’ve found myself craving an intensely light moisturizer that was still strong enough to make my skin feel protected and moisturized. I fell in love with Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial the instant I used it. This is technically a mask I believe, but I use it as a moisturizer.

Firstly, it smells divine. I don’t generally love the smell of roses necessarily, just their look, but this has a lovely, very very light rose smell that makes me just adore putting it on my skin because I get to carry around that scent with me.

It’s also the perfect texture – creamy enough to not be watery at all, but light enough that my skin feels breathable after I apply it. A little goes a long way and it soaks into skin immediately, giving it an instant all-over natural-looking glow that I’ve rarely seen. It doesn’t irritate, doesn’t clog pores, and doesn’t cause breakouts. I generally apply this at night after cleansing, and my skin always feels refreshed and moisturized the next morning. It’s also non-oily enough that I don’t have to wash my face in the morning to get it off before applying makeup – it’s already soaked in.

It’s light and hypoallergenic enough that it would probably work for those with oily skin as well. I’ve also tried the Wild Rose 24-hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream, and did like it, but it didn’t have as powerful an impact on my skin as the Sleeping Facial, and  has a very different, thicker texture, so I recommend the Sleeping Facial over it.

You can buy it for $40 at Sephora or $38 on Amazon (keep in mind that one jar lasts about 4 months).
