Korres Wild Rose Brightening Sleeping Facial Review

korres-wild-rose-and-vitamin-c-sleeping-facial-d-2014111314242691~396259My skin is dry but also acne-prone, and I’ve found myself craving an intensely light moisturizer that was still strong enough to make my skin feel protected and moisturized. I fell in love with Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial the instant I used it. This is technically a mask I believe, but I use it as a moisturizer.

Firstly, it smells divine. I don’t generally love the smell of roses necessarily, just their look, but this has a lovely, very very light rose smell that makes me just adore putting it on my skin because I get to carry around that scent with me.

It’s also the perfect texture – creamy enough to not be watery at all, but light enough that my skin feels breathable after I apply it. A little goes a long way and it soaks into skin immediately, giving it an instant all-over natural-looking glow that I’ve rarely seen. It doesn’t irritate, doesn’t clog pores, and doesn’t cause breakouts. I generally apply this at night after cleansing, and my skin always feels refreshed and moisturized the next morning. It’s also non-oily enough that I don’t have to wash my face in the morning to get it off before applying makeup – it’s already soaked in.

It’s light and hypoallergenic enough that it would probably work for those with oily skin as well. I’ve also tried the Wild Rose 24-hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream, and did like it, but it didn’t have as powerful an impact on my skin as the Sleeping Facial, and  has a very different, thicker texture, so I recommend the Sleeping Facial over it.

You can buy it for $40 at Sephora or $38 on Amazon (keep in mind that one jar lasts about 4 months).

Best Gentle Facial Cleansers for Dry, Sensitive, or Oily Skin

Best Gentle Facial Cleansers via Style Me MaybeI’ve got a specific philosophy for the cleansing part of my skincare routine, and that is: it’s less important what is in a facial cleanser, than what isn’t – namely, drying or stripping ingredients. Cleansers stay on your skin such a short time that for them to claim to do anything else – brighten, moisturize, firm – is simply highly unlikely. Beauty companies market cleansers as multi-purpose because they know it’s what consumers look for – and many of the products do genuinely contain the advertised ingredients which can brighten, firm, etc.  But in order for said ingredients to have any effect on your skin, they have to stay on the skin much longer than the average 30 seconds it takes the average user between applying and washing off.

Rosehip Oil Skincare Review + Tips

Rosehip oil for skin Radha Rosehip OilRosehip oil is a dry oil that penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin where it regenerates cells, increasing collagen production. (Note that rosehip oil and rosehip seed oil are the same thing; you’ll see it marketed under either name). It is rich in vitamin C, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, all of which are known to help heal scar tissue. It is also high in retinoic acid, which studies show reduces the appearance of wrinkles and brightens skin. Essentially, it’s anti-aging, healing, and brightening.
